Micah joins the 2020 Virtual Alaska Disability Pride Celebration on Wednesday, July 22, 2020 from 12-1:00 p.m. to celebrate Disability Pride month and the 30th anniversary of the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act. Micah is honored to join Alaskans with disabilities and other advocates during weeklong event including Temple Grandin, Zack Gottsagen, Judy Heumann, Lydia X.Z. Brown, Erik Howk from Portugal. The Man, and Stand Up For Mental Health.
Alaskan Corey Gilmore will interview Micah. The event will close on July 22, 2020 with a video interview with Sabrina Richmond, an Alaskan disability advocate sharing her story.
This online event happens over the course of seven days, with each day featuring a different nationally-recognized guest speaker and an interview between the guest speaker and an advocate interviewer. Each daily event will end with a pre-recorded video interview with an Alaskan disability advocate. On Sunday, the event lasts two-hours and will feature guest speakers, videos, performances by Alaskan musicians, and Disability Champion awards.
